Who we are

We’re Ashley and Josh, and we’re the faces behind the cocktail shakers at the Thirsty Hitch! Our story begins in January 2022, when we were planning our wedding. We got married at an outdoor tent venue that Ashley managed as the venue coordinator. The tent had a lot of amenities, but - like many unique and outdoor venues - it did not have a bar. Our friends and family are pretty big drinkers, and we love a cocktail ourselves, and so we knew we didn’t want a table in a corner. A mobile bar seemed like a great option, but while we saw a couple based in Southern Ontario and other provinces, there wasn’t a single one based in our area. Not to mention the cost for a trailer to drive from the GTA was almost $5000 before alcohol - and we preferred to put that money into the alcohol ;)

Ashley is known for loving a big idea, and Josh is always game to DIY her dreams into reality, and so when Ashley found an unloved vintage trailer begging for a makeover on Facebook Marketplace, it was decided. We were going to make our own. With about 8 months before the wedding, we recruited our friends and family to start the remodel!

Built to serve.

It was in pretty rough shape inside, but we saw all the potential. The best part about remodelling our own trailer was that we could build it to perfectly suit serving a wedding of about 150 people. To us, that meant a lot of fridge space, easy storage for mix, a kegerator for perfectly chilled draught beer, and of course, a fun vintage chic aesthetic on the inside.

On the outside, it was important to keep the trailer neutral so that it could work with any wedding theme. We’ve added a few decor items since then that help make the trailer feel like a truly special and unique bar on wheels!
